Bluffton, IN. – First Bank of Berne made a $1,000 donation to Brok’n Axoles Car Club.

The Brok’n Axoles Car Club started a 501c3 charity three years ago in hopes of doing something good for the children of the community using our love of antique cars. In a truly short time, our club name has become well known. We hold car shows to raise funds for our one annual event. “Cruisin’ 4 Kids” takes place on the first Saturday of December each year. We plan a Christmas shopping spree and party for select fifth graders in our community who need a little extra help to make sure there are presents under their Christmas tree.
Each selected fifth grader is partnered with a community firefighter and given $150 to shop for their siblings. They have stipulated amounts for each of their siblings, leaving just enough for them to purchase a winter clothing item and a toy for themselves.
After their shopping spree, they are treated to lunch with a parent and their firefighter. At the catered luncheon, they race hot wheels cars on our custom-made track with Santa and the Grinch. Finally, at the end, they receive a wrapped gift from our club, wrapping paper for them to use on the sibling gifts, and a large box of child friendly food items to hold them over during the Christmas holiday time absent from hot school lunches.
